The battery has its own warranty.
8 years or 100,000 miles on the high-voltage battery. Extra service plans usually do not replace that.

What does the BMW warranty cover, and for how long?
The new-car limited warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Roadside help is 4 years, unlimited miles. Rust perforation is 12 years, unlimited miles. High-voltage batteries are 8 years or 100,000 miles.
Does BMW have a separate powertrain warranty?
The 4-year/50,000-mile new-car warranty covers the vehicle, including the powertrain. Longer coverage is sold as an optional vehicle service contract.
Is BMW maintenance included?
On a 2026 BMW purchased from an authorized BMW center, scheduled maintenance is included for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles (BMW Ultimate Care). That covers a typical 3-year lease from start to finish. If you buy and plan to keep your BMW longer, ask about BMW Ultimate Care+ to extend it.
